The Adventure of Finn & Bonnie

Editor's Review :

At first glance, The Adventure of Finn & Bonnie looks like a pretty standard sci-fi arcade game - two heroes trying to take down an army of robots on a distant planet. But once you get into it, you realize it's more of a mix between a light combat game and a crafting puzzle. Instead of just running around smashing buttons, you're actually spending a good chunk of time collecting and combining different weapons to build something stronger. It's got a nice balance of simple action and casual strategy, which makes it easy to get into but hard to put down once you start tinkering. The core gameplay goes like this: you fight off waves of enemy robots, pick up various weapon components, and then drag and drop those parts to fuse them into better gear. The fights themselves are pretty straightforward - tap to attack, dodge when you can - but what keeps things interesting is the weapon system. You're constantly deciding whether to use something now or hold onto it and wait for a better combination. It's kind of like inventory Tetris, but with lasers and swords. The robots get tougher pretty quickly, so if you're not upgrading regularly, you'll start to feel it. There's also a slight puzzle vibe to figuring out the best combinations. Do you merge three low-tier guns now, or wait to pair a mid-tier weapon with something better? It's more fun than it sounds once you're in it. What I really like about Finn & Bonnie is how it gives you just enough freedom to mess around without getting overwhelming. It's easy to pick up for a few minutes, experiment with some gear, try a new weapon combo, then hop back into battle. The robot designs are cartoony in a good way - menacing but not too serious - and the art style overall keeps things light and approachable. It's not a huge, complex game, but it does a nice job of scratching that little upgrade itch. If you're into games where you fight, collect, build, and repeat without needing a massive time investment, this one's definitely worth a try. It may not look flashy at first, but it quietly grows on you.
